Rehearsals for “Alice!” are hopping! With cast & crew we now have nearly 30 people involved in making “Alice!” a thrilling, hilarious, exciting, musical production introducing the Durham Family Theatre to our community. (Our latest crew addition is the talented/skilled Brandon J. Williams, a student intern from NCCU who will design and run our sound!) We’re trying to build a hybrid audience for our show, much like the one that flocks to see “Lion King” or “Billy Elliot.” And I keep thinking “how do we get the word out that this show will HONESTLY entertain all ages?”

The question I’m asked most frequently about the show is “are all the performers children?” I take that to mean “is this a kiddy show?” Meaning, “will adults yawn through it?” The answer is a resounding “NO” on all fronts. We have 18 actors aged 8 – 66 and every decade in-between. We have singers from Durham Savoyards, Durham Public Schools and Durham rock bands. And the entire cast laughs its way through rehearsals at the antics of the characters in Alice’s dream/nightmare – a scary and exhilarating ride. A fabulous adventure about losing your way and finding yourself.

Please help us spread the word by downloading an Alice flier and posting it at your library, grocery store, coffee shop, email list, linked-in and facebook. And get your tickets now to see “Alice! a mad musical adventure.”

Warmly, Jenny
