A quick posting to let you know about a wonderful show in town this weekend. Last night I went to the Durham Arts Council at the invitation of the Dorsey family to watch Taylor, middle-school rep on the DFT advisory council, perform in the annual Collage Dance Company show. “The Company is a group of young dancers and musicians working together to explore African and African American dance, music, and traditions. The company consists of energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated, and expressive young people from 10 to 20 years of age.” (from collagedancecompany.com) It was an electrifying performance that had me smiling, tapping my feet, clapping my hands and calling out “yes!” throughout the evening. This is the 26th annual show for Collage and I highly recommend you get your entire family together and head downtown for the final showing on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm. It is a great celebration of what our youth can achieve!
