In the end one cast party wasn’t enough for us, so the cast and families of “The House at Pooh Corner” had two chances to share a little “smackeral” together. We held a “Strike the Set etc.” party following our final show on Saturday night (with Carrot Cakes of course) and celebrated our successful efforts again at Orchard Park on Sunday afternoon, over grilled hotdogs, sausages, veggie burgers and lasagna. The younger members of our cast ran through the park beneath the white blossoms of the pear trees while the more “mature” among us congregated around the food.
Pooh was there with Christopher Robin, Kanga, Roo, Piglet, Owl, Eeyore, Late Rabbit, and the inhabitants of the 100 Acre Woods. A new community has definitely formed and, as play dates are scheduled among the cast members, I look forward to what we’ll create together in the future.
I know several Pooh veterans plan to audition next Saturday and Monday for our June 1,2,8,9 performances of “Between the Bells.” I hope to see all of you there (those who qualify under the PG 13 rating of BTB, which is set in a high school so really …) For more information on auditions look on the DFT Shows page, to register for Spring Classes go to the DFT Classes page and if you’re looking ahead go to our Summer Performance Camps and sign up for the fun.
